Management Board

The Management Board of PATRIZIA AG manages the company. The members of the Management Board are jointly responsible for the management of the company. Together with the Operational Board, the Management Board ensures that the company continues to develop successfully.

    Wolfgang Egger - Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

    Wolfgang Egger is the founder of PATRIZIA AG and his family remains the majority shareholder. For more than 35 years he has been in charge of the company which, today, has approximately 800 employees (FTE) Europe-wide. Chairman of the Management Board of the PATRIZIA Group since 2001, he has since expanded the company internationally with our own people onsite in Luxembourg, UK and Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Spain and the Nordic countries. In 2006 Mr. Egger floated PATRIZIA on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, attracting the attention of major international shareholders.

    Thomas Wels joined PATRIZIA AG as Co-Chief Executive Officer in May 2020. He is an internationally experienced executive who worked for 15 years at UBS Asset Management where he held various positions including Head of Global Real Estate and Chief Operating Officer until 2019. Thomas’ proven expertise ranges across all real estate and infrastructure segments and the management of a broad range of funds, investment trusts and other alternative investment vehicles. He has a long-standing experience in strategic planning, business and organisational development as well as governance in asset management based on his executive positions in various real estate investment companies. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of St Gallen.

    Alexander Betz as Chief Digitalisation Officer and his team drive PATRIZIA’s Digitalisation Programme, implement new designed business and corporate processes, steer all company-wide projects in an agile and interdisciplinary approach, and operate the entire IT infrastructure. He has over 25 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and CEO in financial and IT-related companies. In 1999, he founded eFonds24, the first internet-based platform for property value funds and which is still the market leader for almost all well-known capital management companies and banks for the administration of their real value funds businesses. As a member of the board of a major listed investment manager and as managing director of an regulated investment management company, he has extensive experience in the conception, issuance and portfolio management of investment funds. Today, Alex combines IT and platform expertise with fund and investment know-how for the digitalisation of PATRIZIA AG, to the benefit of the Group’s clients and partners through seamlessly integrated digital services.

    Karim Bohn - Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    Karim Bohn joined PATRIZIA AG as chief financial officer in November 2015. A business management graduate, he has extensive experience of acting as a CFO in the property industry, having previously held this position at Süddeutsche Wohnen GmbH, Vitus Immobiliengruppe (Vitus Property Group) and the formerly MDAX-listed GAGFAH Group. Mr. Bohn also has a strong track record of working in international finance and capital markets. He was responsible for the finance and capital market activities of the listed European property companies belonging to Fortress Investment Group in London, and also worked in the field of corporate finance and equity capital markets at Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and London.

    Anne Kavanagh

    Anne joined PATRIZIA in April 2017 as a Member of the Board and Chief Investment Officer. She has more than 30 years of experience in the Investment Management. Prior to PATRIZIA she was Global Head of Asset Management and Transactions at AXA Investment Managers, Real Assets, a member of the Management Board and a member of the Global Investment Committee. Prior to AXA she carried out leading management roles at a number of internationally recognised businesses, including MD of Real Estate at Lazard, Head of Real Estate at Cambridge Place Investment Management and International Director in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Capital Markets business. Anne is a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute.

    Klaus Schmitt - Chief Operating Officer (COO)

    Klaus Schmitt joined PATRIZIA AG in 2003 as Head of Legal Department and was responsible for the business development. Since the IPO in 2006 he has been running the operational business and some holding functions as COO. In this role he is responsible for all operational issues all over the organisation and also oversaw all investments done in the past as well as all M&A transactions and the organic growth in Europe. Previously he worked as lawyer for various companies including Dyckerhoff & Widmann AG, Munich and Siemens Real Estate. Meanwhile he has more than 25 years industry experience. Mr. Schmitt has a graduate in law.

    Simon Woolf as Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for PATRIZIA’s global HR function. For the last ten years, Simon has been Senior Vice President of HR at Sony Music Entertainment, leading the HR team from London. In this role, Simon was responsible for all of Sony Music’s HR activities in Africa, Asia/Pacific, Latin America, Canada, and Europe. His role comprised the delivery of the people strategy across the full human resources agenda with business partnering, OD & L&D, talent acquisition and reward functions. Prior to this, he worked for ten years in various positions in HR for the British supermarket chain Asda Walmart. Simon holds a degree from Loughborough University in Modern European Studies, Politics, Economics, French & German.

    Edmund Craston is Senior Managing Director and Head of Fund Management. Previously Mr Craston was Rockspring’s Managing Director (and a Partner), responsible for both the strategic focus and day-to-day management of the business and chairman of the Investment and ESG Committees. Prior to joining Rockspring in 2009 he had a 22 year career as an investment banker specialising in real estate and was EMEA Head of Real Estate Investment Banking at both UBS Investment Bank and Lehman Brothers. He also worked in Tokyo from 1988 to 1990. Mr. Craston graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Classics. He has been on the Management Board of EPRA twice and was an active member of the UK industry lobbying committees for the introduction of REITs.

    Konrad Finkenzeller - Head of Institutional Clients International

    Dr. Konrad Finkenzeller is Head of International Capital Markets for PATRIZIA and is responsible for all international fundraising activities. Before joining PATRIZIA in 2012, Mr. Finkenzeller worked for Hines in the capital markets sector for the German-speaking region. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Regensburg and a master’s degree in Real Estate Finance from Henley Business School, University of Reading. Mr. Finkenzeller is also a visiting lecturer for Real Estate Valuation at the University of Regensburg and Hochschule Augsburg.

    Peter Helfrich - Head of the Netherlands

    • Peter Helfrich is the Regional Head South-West Europe, responsible for the PATRIZIA activities in France, Benelux, Italy and Iberia and is a member of the Operational Board, the Investment Committee and the ESG Committee
    • 20+ years professional experience in the European real estate market (Netherlands, Nordics, Southern Europe and Germany). Peter lived and worked in 4 different countries (Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Italy) in the last 10 years
    • Proven track record in office, retail, logistics and residential fund & portfolio management performance, including developments and debt and hedge management for a number of funds, joint ventures and separate accounts on behalf of 50+ institutional investors
    • Before joining PATRIZIA, Peter worked as Managing Director for CBRE Global Investors with responsibility for real estate investment management activities in the Nordics, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany, as well as a Fund Manager for several real estate funds
    • Peter has an extensive expertise in the leadership and management of country-, fund and acquisition strategies, business development and execution of value enhancement strategies
    • Peter is a ULI Retail and Entertainment council member and a PATRIZIA Children Foundation Board member
    • Peterholds a M.Sc. in Business Administration from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and a Master in Real Estate (MSRE) from the University of Amsterdam / Amsterdam School of Real Estate

    Irmgard Linker - Managing Director

    Irmgard Linker is Senior Managing Director and responsible for Fund Services for the PATRIZIA Group, including fund accounting, risk management and real estate valuation. Prior to that, Mrs Linker worked for Schroders and the IVG Group as Managing Director for real estate capital management companies for more than 10 years and has many years of experience in accounting, tax, risk management and IT. Further professional stages were the Bayerische Landesbank in the balance sheets division as well as Price Waterhouse GmbH. Irmgard Linker studied economics at the University of Augsburg, graduating with a degree in economics. In addition, Mrs Linker completed her studies in business administration with the degree Diplom-Kauffrau Univ.

    Rikke Lykke - Head of Nordic Region

    Rikke Lykke is both European Head of Asset Manager and Regional Head of North, Central and Eastern Europe within PATRIZIA. In addition to these roles, Rikke Lykke is Head of Corporate Integration where she is responsible for any post-closing merger activities.

    Rikke Lykke joined PATRIZIA in 2012 as Country Head of the Nordic Region founding the local office in Denmark and Finland. Rikke Lykke expanded PATRIZIA’s activities in the Nordics to become a leading real estate investment manager in the region (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden).

    Today, Rikke Lykke leads the PATRIZIA European Asset Management team distributed across Europe on 17 locations managing PATRIZIA’s assets under management. With a main focus on sustainable value creation Rikke Lykke and her team are focused all asset aspects from market trends over ESG to tenant satisfaction.

    Rikke Lykke is a member of the Operational Board of PATRIZIA and a member of key committees within PATRIZIA such as the Investment Committee, Small Cap Investment Committee, Fund Review Committee and ESG Committee.

    Rikke Lykke started her career with McKinsey & Company in New York and Copenhagen. Rikke holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration and is a Fellow of RICS.

  • Philipp Schaper

    Philipp Schaper

    Philipp Schaper is Senior Managing Director and PATRIZIA’s Head of European Transactions, responsible for the acquisition and disposition of properties across all asset classes throughout Europe. Prior to joining PATRIZIA, he worked as Managing Director / Head of Direct Investments at IVG Immobilien AG and was responsible for its European portfolio, amounting to 5 billion euros. Prior to that, he spent several years as Vice President at Fortress Investment Group in a leading position in the commercial transaction team in Germany. Mr Schaper began his career with LaSalle Investment Management, focusing on European acquisitions and capital raising. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Urban Estate Management and a master’s degree in Real Estate Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics. Mr Schaper is a member of the Operational Board and the European Investment Committee of PATRIZIA.
