PATRIZIA hands over MEINE MITTE apartments in Berlin to their owners

PATRIZIA Immobilien AG has finished the development of its Berlin urban residential complex MEINE MITTE, with the completion of 102 high-quality condominiums more than six months ahead of schedule.

For most of the apartments located at 48a to 52 Alte Jakobstrasse in the “Mitte” District, the keys were handed over to the new owners before the winter holidays. “Due to the extremely good cooperation between the project developer, the general contractor and the new owners, we were able to complete this development project ahead of schedule. We are excited that most of the new residents will be able to celebrate the holidays in their new homes,” reports Matthias Fiss, the developer responsible for the project at PATRIZIA.

PATRIZIA, together with KSP Jürgen Engel Architects, succeeded in creating the urban residential complex MEINE MITTE in a unique, green park location in the heart of the capital on a strip of the former Berlin Wall between the Alexanderplatz, Checkpoint Charlie and the Moritzplatz. The spectrum of freely accessible apartments ranges from comfortable one and two bedroom apartments, starting at 33 square metres, to generous four and five bedroom apartments with 175 square metres. All apartments have a room height of approximately 2.70 metres, floor-to-ceiling windows and large balconies, loggia or roof terraces. Construction started in April 2015. The investment volume amounts to approximately EUR 40 million. “Both owner-occupiers and investors showed a great deal of interest from the start. The last apartment was sold in October,” states Fiss.

Just a few months ago, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) [German Society for Sustainable Building] awarded MEINE MITTE the preliminary gold certification for its sustainable and energy-efficient design. As a KfW Efficiency House 70, MEINE MITTE does not only meet modern energy standards but, due to its efficient design, it significantly minimises transmission heat loss due to the use of ecologically efficient materials. All installed wood products, for example, come from sustainable forestry and the green roof and underground parking garage reduce the amount of waste water. In addition, residents will benefit from parking spaces for bicycles and rooms for prams.
