As Risk Manager (Associate) you will play a key role within the risk management team in London.
Your responsibilities
- Identify, measure, mitigate, monitor, and report all type of risks, including mainly market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk
- As part of the 2nd line of defense, coordinate together with the business units (1st line of defense) the identification, measurement, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting of all the risks
- Support the local CRO and Group CRO in embedding a risk culture at the firm
- Ensure the compliance of the management company and the AIFs with the risk management policies & strategies, the regulatory requirements, and the applicable regulations
- Regularly review and update the different risk management policies
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis and make recommendations
- Implement, improve, and maintain the risk management databases, models, and systems
- Maintain the stress test program
- Execution of the risk-bearing capacity calculation for the management company.
- Set-up of risk profiles of the AIFs based on the individual investment strategies.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of the outsourced areas and functions (outsourcing controlling)
- Processing the requirements of the internal audit, the auditors and the supervisory authority as well as communicating with them on topics of risk management or outsourcing controlling
- Participation in group and departmental projects and initiatives
- Promote risk culture awareness within the management company
What we look for
- University degree
- Minimum experience of 1 to 2 years in risk management or investment management
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements UK and International funds
- Knowledge of real estate/private equity accounting/finance is an advantage
- Good understanding of financial mathematics, statistics and modelling techniques would be considered as an advantage
- Very good written and spoken English
- Very good user skills in the common MS Office programs, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint; VBA, MS Access and SAP knowledge are an advantage
- Independent and self-reliant work, as well as working in a team (UK and with European colleagues)
- Result- and deadline-oriented way of working
- Structured work, quick comprehension and strong analytical skills
- Very good communication skills
